About Me
I am a former Field Producer, Assignment Editor, and Web Content Contributor for WBBM-TV, the CBS-owned television news station in Chicago, Illinois. I joined CBS 2 after spending time at ABC 7 Chicago as a News Planning Intern. I covered a number of daily news events and breaking stories throughout the area. A few of my most notable field productions at CBS 2 include the Dan Ryan Expressway Shutdown March, the Lake Shore Drive Shutdown March, and the aftermath of the murder trial of Chicago Police Officer Jason Van Dyke. I am a graduate of Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois and I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Radio/T.V. Broadcasting, Magna Cum Laude. In December 2020, I earned a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Organizational Management from Lewis University.

I began my journalism and writing career working at my college station, Lewis University Television Network, where I served as an anchor, technical crew member, and eventually Executive Producer for two years. During that time, I also worked as a Creative Broadcasting Intern for Flying House Media of Elmhurst, Illinois.
During my undergraduate journey, I placed first for Best Research Report with my original interpretation thesis based on early American literature for WINDOWS Fine Arts Magazine after entering the WINDOWS writing contest. My paper is published in the April 2017 issue, which is available in print and online. In April 2020, I was recognized once again by WINDOWS with an honorable mention for my research report titled "Values and Ethics in The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls". In addition to creative, research, and broadcasting writing, I have skills in copywriting for the marketing, direct-fundraising, and advertising fields.

I am a suburban Chicago native and the proud daughter of Mexican, Irish, and German parents. When I am not working, I'm spending time with family, friends, or exploring downtown Chicago for new restaurants, events, and theatre. I am a member of the Writers Guild of America East and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
